Xfce 4.4.2 has just been released ! yay ^_~
A changelog is available here: http://www.xfce.org/documentation/changelogs/4.4.2.
Thunar (the file manager) and exo have also been updated consequently: http://thunar.xfce.org/news.html#2007-12-02.
We’ll wait for Debian to upload it (since Corsac has already updated each package in the pkg-xfce svn repo), and we’ll merge it from unstable then (it’ll help reduce the delta between xubuntu and debian-xfce :). We also decided to “backport” it to gutsy, since this is only a bugfix release, so, if we have enough time, the packages will be available in the Xubuntu Team PPA: https://launchpad.net/~xubuntu-team/+archive.
Besides, I’ll drop all the gnome bits which were introduced in gutsy. ;)
The only not-so-good piece of news is that Xubuntu will go back to universe for hardy. Canonical folks suddendly decided that packages in main were officially supported, and since they never supported Xubuntu… I guess they were just waiting for a good reason to do this: they never had any “real” control on xubuntu, because no Canonical employee was working on it ; from a commercial point of view, that’s understandable, of course, but from my point of view, the way they did wasn’t correct at all (decide before, speak of this on an irc channel, let someone else start a thread on xubuntu-devel to make people think this decision did come from the community and not from them…).
Anyway, to put it in a nutshell: rock on!
